Desktop Support Administrator

Breakthrough is seeking a Desktop Support Administrator that will be based in Green Bay, WI, USA. The Desktop Support Administrator will be part of the Operations & End-User Services team and is responsible for maintaining a secure, stable client infrastructure.  The responsibilities will focus on Desktop Administration but may be asked to support additional areas, for example server administration or office support.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Installs, configures, maintains and upgrades all PC and Mac hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
  • Strong level understanding of Windows 7/10 and Mac OS X operating systems.
  • Develop and improve Enterprise-level methods and procedures for existing deployment system of Windows and Mac OS X clients including patch management.
  • Inventory and asset management of computer hardware/software
  • A strong, working understanding of the following technologies is required:
  • Provisioning and troubleshooting of AD accounts and security groups
  • Provisioning and troubleshooting of O365 email accounts
  • DNS, directory services (AD/LDAP)
  • File services
  • VPN service
  • Inventory management
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Mac and PC platforms)
  • Intermediate network troubleshooting
  • Previous experience and high comfort level with ‘face-to-face’ Executive support
  • Performs/supports complex installations and maintenance for end-users.
  • Provides PC and Mac support for both onsite and remote users.
  • Produces and maintains existing knowledge base and support documentation.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems via in person, telephone and/or email in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains user account information including security and network access according to systems standards and company policy.
  • Develops, maintains and/or delivers related workstation training to end-users.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Technical school graduate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study.
  • Minimum 2 years previous Desktop Support (or system administration) experience in IT.
  • Previous experience should include supporting a Microsoft Windows environment, as well as MAC Support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task appropriately within a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within teams.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results.
